Bambi Harlow
Bambi Harlow is a Research Assistant for the Fashion in Film Festival. She is currently in her final year at Central Saint Martins, where she is completing a degree in Fashion Histories and Theories.
Focusing primarily on silent and Pre-Code cinema, her research is concerned with the role of clothing as a narrative device and explores the intersection of costume design, spectatorship and ideological frameworks. Harlow has written extensively on the construction of star personas and screen archetypes in early Hollywood, and takes particular interest in the recurring themes of typology, cultural hegemony and Orientalism.
