Morag Ross

Morag Ross is an award-winning makeup artist for film and TV. She grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, where she studied at the Glasgow School of Art. After training in makeup with the BBC in London, she embarked on her freelance career in the mid-1980s. She has worked on iconic films including Tár (2022), Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), The Aviator (2004), Lost in Translation (2003),The Crying Game (1992), Orlando (1992) and Caravaggio (1986).

For the past 40 years Morag has worked in the film industry with prominent actors and directors, including Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Pedro Almodóvar, Todd Haynes, Taika Waititi, Gillian Armstrong, Martin Scorsese, Sofia Coppola and Derek Jarman. Often crossing over to do editorial and red carpet events, she is known for creating flawless beauty looks as well as transformative character makeups.

Morag’s work has garnered numerous awards, with three BAFTAs among them. She is currently nominated for the 2025 GOYA AWARDS for makeup and hair on The Room Next Door (2024).
